Bogota, Colombia articles
Bogota, Colombia is the capital and largest city in the nation. Being such a large hub has its plusses and minuses: for instance, Bogota has one of the best dining and nightlife scenes in the country yet getting around town can be menacing.
Also referred to as Santa Fe de Bogota, Bogota is both the geographic and financial center of Colombia: the core of Colombian culture and the melting pot of its identities. Bogota is comprised of various sectors, from bustling downtown to wealthy suburbs (north) to low-income neighborhoods (south) and is also home to the country’s political scene. Theaters, museums, art galleries: Bogota is the most cosmopolitan (said with a grain of salt) city in the country.
Bogota's climate is surprisingly cold for a city so close to the equator and while it is primarily considered to be Colombia's most international city, Bogota still lacks the amenities and facilities of places like Santiago and Buenos Aires. Bogota is still ridden with crime in certain districts, but what big city isn’t?
